Jeanne Yamamura is part of the adjunct faculty for the online Master of Accounting (MAcc) program at the University of Nevada, Reno, and an instructor and consultant at the Graduate School USA International Institute, where she provides training in governmental accounting and reporting, auditing, internal control, and fraud to some of D.C.’s local and state governments. Dr. Yamamura has been the Chairman of the Nevada Society of CPAs and has taught workshops for island governments as well as the Association of Pacific Islands Public Auditors.
She received her B.S. in Business Administration-Accounting from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, her MIM from Thunderbird School of Global Management, and her Ph.D. in Accounting from Washington State College. Outside of work, travel and food are her primary interest—with international hiking trips currently topping the list.
Jeanne Yamamura’s area of expertise is audit and accounting information systems. Previously, she worked as an auditor for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co and in internal audit with American Express. She taught Auditing and Information Systems classes at Portland State University and the University of Nevada, Reno and was the audit manager at Touche Ross for four years.
