To apply for CPA licensure in Florida, candidates must meet both education and work experience requirements
established by the Florida Board of Accountancy.

  1. Candidates must complete 150 semester hours (225 quarter hours) of education, including 30
    upper-division accounting hours and 36 upper-division general business hours, along with 1 year of
    qualifying work experience.
  2. Candidates must also have 1 year of qualifying work experience, consisting of at least 20 hours per week
    over a maximum of 2 years

or 

40 hours per week over a maximum of 1 year, in accounting, attest, compilation, management advisory,
financial advisory, tax, or consulting services.
