CFA Level I dates, including CFA Level 1 registration, early registration, scheduling, and rescheduling windows, are as follows:

To register for the CFA exam, you must complete the following 2 steps:

1. Once registration opens, you can enroll in the CFA exam through the CFA website. Make sure to note the CFA registration and early registration deadlines.
2. Schedule your exam at your preferred testing center. If you need to reschedule, make sure to do so before the scheduling deadline. There is a $250 fee to change your scheduled appointment.

Note: Due to the pandemic, some test centers reached maximum capacity before registration closed. The CFA Institute is working to add appointments and to assist candidates in affected areas. We recommend you register as soon as possible to avoid scheduling conflicts.

CFA exam costs can be broken down into 3 types of fees:

1. One-time enrollment fee: A one-time program fee assessed during registration.
2. Registration fee: The cost of the exam varies by when you register. Early birds get a better rate. See costs below.
3. Rescheduling fee: This fee covers the cost of rescheduling an exam appointment.

Registration Price Increase for 2023

Effective for February 2023 exams, prices will increase from $700 USD to $900 USD for early registration and from $1,000 USD to $1,200 USD for standard registration.
