Heber Longhurst is a Content Developer and Content Editor for Wiley and a CFA Level-I, CFA Level-II and CFA Level-III instructor with Elite Market Instruction. Heber is a member of the Board of the CFA Society of Mexico where he promotes the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct by organizing the annual Ethics Challenge among multiple universities, and by giving additional conferences to companies and professional associations on the importance of ethics in the financial services industry. As a mentor in the CFA Institute Research Challenge Heber has four winning teams. Dr. Longhurst has a Ph.D. in finance from the International School of Management. The title of his doctoral dissertation was “Collaborative Governance in Impact Investing in Mexico: A Multiple Case Study.” Heber passed each level of the CFA exam on his first attempt and has an MBA with Honors in International Finance from Thunderbird the Global School of Management.
Heber has taught CFA Level-I, Level-II and Level-III courses with Elite Market Instruction since 2015 and has also taught CFA prep courses (in English and Spanish) for the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (Tec de Monterrey), Instituto Technológico Autómono de México (ITAM), Universidad Panamericana (UP) and the CFA Society of Mexico. Dr. Longhurst is currently a member of the full-time faculty of the Tec de Monterrey where he teaches classes related to corporate valuation, quantitative methods, accounting, international business, ethics, economics, derivatives, and portfolio management. As a hobby, Heber organizes informal discussions on philosophical books with students, former students, financial service industry professionals, and friends.
